Falsterbo Summer House, Landscaping and Restoration, Falsterbo, Sweden, 2022
A collaboration with Sanna Feledy (the Client)
A complete refurbishment of a generous 1930’s two-storey summer house of 260m2 in Falsterbo peninsula, Southern Sweden. The project involved an entirely new garden design with trees and flower beds, a vegetable garden, a swimming pool, an outdoor shower, a table tennis room and multiple sun terraces in Swedish Öland stone and timber. New entrance canopies and timber doors and windows were added to the existing curved building volumes while the existing vertical metal cladding was repainted. The previously uninsulated house was insulated beyond current Swedish standards. The existing heating systems was renewed with a combination of underfloor heating and radiators.
Inside, the ground floor has been opened up to make the spaces more continuous with new stone floors, oak parquet and painted timber flooring. The kitchen is designed in white and grey stone to match the floor and walls to be open while appropriately discreet.
On the ground and first floor, the existing bathrooms, toilets and bedrooms have been completely refurbished with new terrazzo and existing painting timber floors. We have also been working closely with the client to select Swedish and English wallpapers and fabrics and new and second hand furniture and lighting.
The client, Sanna Feledy, is currently designing her own carpets for the house, which will go into production soon.
